Lake Davis Resort is located in the high sierra mountains in Portola, California, at the northern most part of the Feather River. Close to the resort resides the quaint town well-known for the beautiful Lake Davis, the Feather River, Portola's Western Pacific Railroad Museum, James Beckwourth Historical Museum, and the Historical William's House Museum.
The seasons are very distinct...
Glorious snow-capped mountains in the winter, beautiful colors in the fall, heavenly scenes in the spring, and great outdoor living in the summer.
No matter what time of year you choose to visit, you're sure to have the time of your life!

Thank you for inquiring about Lake Davis Resort where you can "get away" for a night, weekend, or week, 365 days a year.

Our 6-15 year old cabins are in a quiet, secluded area without a lot of traffic, and are set within a federal game reserve. We are also in the process of adding more motel units to the resort.

Lake Davis Resort is about seven (7) miles north of the city of Portola, which is on State Route 70. Reno Nevada, Lake Tahoe, and the Sierra Nevada Lakes Basin all surround the Resort within a 60 mile radius. The Lake Davis Resort is open year round so you can enjoy both summer and winter sports including: downhill skiing at Donner and Lake Tahoe; cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and mountain biking on the 13 miles around Lake Davis, plus many miles of undeveloped logging roads. Besides the trophy trout at Lake Davis and the Feather River, there are many other lakes and streams in the area for fishing.

Horse lovers will enjoy the several stables with rides of various lengths for the beginner to the experienced rider.

Railroad buffs enjoy the Portola Railroad Museum which has train rides on the weekends, during the summer season, and even instruction on how to be an engineer!

For the golf enthusiasts we have four 18 hole and two 9 hole golf courses, within 23 miles of Lake Davis Resort. There are others even closer that are in the planning stage. There is even a miniature golf course in the Graeagle area.

Located in the game reserve, Lake Davis Resort is ideal as a base for wild life and bird watching. The Audubon Society have sighted over 200 different species of birds in the surrounding area, including the American Bald Eagle. BRING YOUR CAMERA!

Lake Davis Resort features 4 totally furnished, self-service house-keeping cabins (no maid service). They are used by our guests for honeymoons, anniversaries, as family vacation and reunion destination, and also for small-focus group gatherings. Features 8 house-keeping motel rooms (no maid service) available. To help accommodate larger groups, we also have a house-keeping 2 bedroom suite with optional spa (also no maid service). We have a game area for billiards, air hockey, "foosball" and putting green. (Summer: horseshoe pit, badmitton and basketball.
